Attire
You will be provided with a shirt and hat. You are to wear black pants such as Dockers style or scrubs. No yoga, sweat, gym or stretch pants. No leggings or jeans. No jewelry aside from wedding ring, necklace if under shirt and stud earrings. For those that wear Apple watches to track steps, I wear mine on my ankle or my upper arm under my shirt sleeve. Shoes are to be black, closed toe, non-slip.
Check in & Arrival Information
We usually park on side streets and walk over, but I can get you parking passes to White Field and you would take the shuttle over to the stadium. If you choose to use the parking passes, you will need to allow plenty of time because traffic there gets extremely backed up. Once you arrive, check in is at Gate B.
Check in time for the 3:30p games is 9:30-11a, and for the 7:30p games it is 1:30-3p.
Once checked in, go to your left to the stairs just past Gate D. Go to the 2nd floor and turn left. Our stand, “40” is the first stand on the left.
What to expect
It seems like it is really early to check in, but we are busy all of that time setting up. Gates open an hour before kick off and the ushers are able to eat about 45 minutes before that and we are one of only 4 stands that they are able to use. We will be selling beer and that will stop at the end of the 3rd quarter. We close when there are 7 minutes left of the game. We starting cleaning up prior to closing. You will be given a coupon for food and can drink as much as much soda or water as needed to stay hydrated. If you bring your own food, we do have a cooler that it can be stored in. Eating and drinking must be done out of the stand or in our back area. Cell phones must be kept out of sight unless calling Levy staff for assistance. We are not allowed out into the bowl before or during the game.
Required Online Training
There is online training that all volunteers need to complete and the completion certificate emailed in. Due to selling beer, only volunteers 21+ can run the registers and must have a liquor license as well as the ServSafe Alcohol Certificate. The liquor license can be the volunteer level and Blue Star will potentially reimburse these fees. Please talk to Sandy about this. Those who will be running the registers will need a copy of their Liquor Permit with them.
