Volunteering at a Notre Dame home game concessions stand is one of the best ways to help fundraise for Blue Star Mothers #6 St. Joseph Valley. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors need to complete an additional consent form signed by a guardian. Complete information including details about parking, attire, food, and dress code are listed below.

  1. Must be at least 16 years of age.  Ages 16-17 will need a signed minor consent form on file.
  2. There is a training that must be completed.  It is online.  I will send the link out once it is sent to me.  The Completion Certificates will need to be emailed to me at [email protected].
  3. If you volunteer for a game, please do everything that you can to attend.  We depend on your attendance because we have a minimum requirement to retain our stand.  We need at least 22 people per game.  We understand that things do happen so if that is the case, please call or text me at 574-315-5484 as soon as possible.
  1.  You will be given a blue Notre Dame polo and hat for the day.
  2. Black pants-not leggings, gym pants, yoga pants, jeans.  If you don’t have any, I suggest a pair of black scrubs.  You can wear black shorts, but they must be longer, at least finger tip length as a guide.
  3. Black non-slip shoes. No Crocs.  Gym shoes are fine.
  4. Minimal jewelry.
  5. Hair longer than shoulder length must be put up.
  1. You can park in the white field and take the shuttle to the stadium.  I would just need to know ahead of time so that I can send you a parking pass.  Just be prepared for a lot of traffic and long wait times for the shuttles.
  2. We typically park on side streets and walk over to the stadium.  There are also pay to park options in the surrounding neighborhoods.
  3. If you need to be dropped off, the closest you will be able to be dropped off at will be the entry points to the campus.
  1.  Clear bag policy.
  2. You can bring a drink in, just not canned beverages.  You can also bring in your own reusable cup such as a Yeti or Stanley.  You can bring food with you to eat and we will have a cooler to put it in if needed.
  3. Remember this is a cashless stadium.
  4. Bring your picture ID.  If you are a student and do not have a State ID, please bring your student ID.
  1.  You are able to eat a meal at our stand and drink as much water or soda as needed.
  2. We will have a list to log items taken for inventory purposes.
  3. Candy and Yeti’s will need to be purchased.
  4. Food will need to be eaten either in back or outside of the stand and drinks will need to be kept in designated areas.
  5. This is our biggest fundraiser and allows us to be able to serve our veterans and servicemembers.  We receive 100% of our tips and a percentage of our sales.  It is a long day, but a lot of fun and for a great cause.
  1. There are 6 games.  Five of them have 3:30 kick off times and 1 at 7:30. We are guessing the check in times will be 10-11 and 2-3 for the night game.  This may seem early but the gates open about  1 ½ hours before kickoff and it does take us about that long to get everything ready.
  2. You will check in at Gate B of the football stadium.  You will let them know you are with Blue Star Mothers and there will be a sign in sheet.
  3. You will walk to your left until you get to the stairway by Gate D and go to the 2nd floor, not the mezzanine.  At the top of the steps, turn left and we are the first stand on the left, #40.
  4. Volunteers are NOT allowed in the field viewing area at any time, pre, during, and post game.

  1. Typically we start closing some of our windows at the end of the 3rd quarter so that we can start cleaning up as we continue to sell.  We are told when we can completely close and leave.  We need to make sure that everything is restocked, inventoried and cleaned.  Your shirt and hat will need to be turned in to me before you leave.
